Northcote Road is the hub of the community in Battersea and many local businesses line the road with stalls for the Summer Fair and Christmas Lights & Pop-Up Market. The events have been running for over 25 years and the street is buzzing with activity as Battersea attracts over 10,000 people to the street. All residents are represented at the fairs as the stalls display food, drink and live music from all cultures and generations. Over 100 stalls sell homewares, clothes, jewellery and artisan cheese and bread.

Each year, the summer fair takes place the same day as the Wimbledon Men’s Tennis Final and you have to be quick if you want to grab a seat to see all the action on the big screen. Northcote Road is considered bustling at the best of times but, on the day of the summer fair, the community come out in force.

We can always be found handing out ice creams, goodie bags and balloons and we are just thrilled to be involved. Our face painter is so popular with the kids and donations go to our corporate charity. Last year, we raised nearly £500 for Anthony Nolan from face painting at Northcote Road events alone.

The Christmas Lights and the Pop-Up Market also see huge crowds gather at Northcote Road. Local businesses celebrate the community by setting up stalls with plenty of festive entertainment. The carol singers outside of our office always attract a throng of visitors who leave very happy with bellies full of mince pies and mulled wine.
