As the only hospice in Central London, providing specialised palliative care to boroughs of West and Central London, St John’s Hospice has affected the lives of many with whom we live alongside. Respect for each person’s dignity is the motivation for each healthcare professional who cares for the patients at the hospice. Located in St John’s Wood, just around the corner from our Little Venice office, the hospice is a bright and welcoming space that provides a relaxed setting in which families can spend time with their loved ones. They care for around 4000 terminally ill patients and their families every year and require £6.9 million a year to fund their extensive services. These include holistic support to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of each person.

Marsh & Parsons has supported Paint the Park Pink since 2014 which is one of a series of “In Memory” events organised by volunteers at the hospice. At each of these events, families and staff are encouraged to celebrate the lives of those who have given and received care at the hospice and are no longer with us. It is a wonderful event and it’s heart-warming to hear stories of the extraordinary people who live and work in this community.

As the main sponsors of the event, we wave the participants off on their 5km walk around Regent’s Park handing out balloons to carry with them. The children love to get their face painted but, at this event, the adults are equally keen to have some glitter on their face. When they return from their sponsored walk, we are ready to hand out goodie bags and join in the post-event celebrations.
