At the 2011 Negotiator Awards, Marsh & Parsons were winners of four categories – National Lettings Agency of the Year, Marketing Team of the Year, Leader of the Year and voted by our peers as the overall “most admired estate agency” earning the ‘Supreme Negotiator of the Year’ title.
The Judges were particularly impressed with Marsh & Parsons’ newly launched initiatives, including an international desk offering 18 different languages and the 2012 Olympic Accommodation service run by our Corporate & Relocation Services team. They also commented on our attention to renewals and re-lets, resulting in rent increases of up to 5% for our landlords; our commitment to a growing lettings indices; our mobile website; and a ‘managed’ portfolio which now accounts for approximately 35% of our overall lettings business.
Despite launching a number of new marketing initiatives in 2011, Marsh & Parsons were particularly commended for our 0% campaign, designed to introduce our brand in an area where we were relatively unknown. This included an extensive mail drop as well as an experiential project, where 6,000 locally sourced ring doughnuts representing a zero, with a percentage sign on the packaging, were handed out over three days. As a result, we successfully registered 183 properties and 438 applicants in three months, resulting in the sale of £17m worth of property. The campaign was part of a £1.7m marketing strategy for 2011, which included outdoor advertising on buses and at local underground stations in addition to enabling house hunters to access property details via mobile devices and social media penetration via Twitter and Facebook.
Peter Rollings, Chief Executive of Marsh & Parsons was announced as 2011’s Estate Agency ‘Leader of the Year’ described as “just so nice” and the man “for whom all the judges expressed a desire to work with“. The judges were impressed with his transformation of the Marsh & Parsons brand, as well as his ability to get the best out of his employees, who “praise their leader for his energy, enthusiasm and commitment, but above all, for his passion for the business“. Peter was commended for his “in-depth knowledge of the London property market” as well as being “a well-respected media commentator and public speaker“. Adding “anything Rollings doesn’t know about agency probably isn’t worth knowing“.
This award is judged by The Negotiator’s ‘special academy’ comprising 50 of the UK’s leading property professionals, including Marsh & Parsons’ rivals. Awarded for our growth, together with “all-round excellence and professionalism” we were delighted to be recognised amongst our peers as the “most admired estate agency in the UK“.
